About Tramme.
A motion design engine and editor, with its source available.
What it is
A film in Tramme is a document, a plain file that holds its layers, its keyframes and its sound. The editor and the assistant change that document through the same operations, so what one does the other can undo. Every frame is a pure function of time, so rendering is deterministic: the preview and the export are drawn by the same engine. The format is in the docs, for anyone who wants it.
Who makes it
Tramme is made by Aziz Chanou, in the open: the code, the roadmaps and the changelog are in the repository and in the docs, and the changelog says what changed in each version.
Licence
From the version after 0.16.0, Tramme is under the Functional Source License (FSL-1.1-ALv2). You can read, run, change and redistribute the source for any purpose except offering a competing commercial product or service, and each version becomes Apache-2.0 two years after its release. Versions up to 0.16.0 stay under the Apache License 2.0. The third-party work Tramme builds on keeps its own licences: see the third-party notices.
Taking part
Bug reports, ideas, documentation and code are welcome. Read how to contribute and the code of conduct first; for a larger change, open an issue to talk about it before writing it.
A security problem
Please do not open a public issue. Report it privately through the repository's Security tab, as the security policy describes.
Source available, free to use.
Read it, change it, run it in the browser, on your desktop or on your own server. Only a competing product is off limits.
